Reading Psalm 39 this morning, I was struck with these lines ...
"I will guard my ways, Lest I sin with my tongue;
I will restrain my mouth with a muzzle,
While the wicked are before me."
he goes on to say -
"I was mute with silence,
I held my peace even from good;
And my sorrow was stirred up."
I think David realized his anger at the wicked
could have lead him to sin with his tongue -
yet being silent made him angry and impatient.
Wisdom and patience, when to speak and when to remain silent.
Something to think about.
